Valentina Roman (she/her) is a registered social worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. She completed her Master of Social Work at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. Prior to her graduate studies, Val received a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Towson University with jazz guitar as her instrument.
Val previously worked in the United States at outpatient DBT practices, including at a DBT-Linehan Board of Certification Certified Program. She has 4 years of experience and training to provide DBT, CBT, ERP, and Prolonged Exposure for PTSD treatments to both adolescent and adult clients.
With her background in the arts, Val enjoys getting creative to help clients get unstuck. She is especially passionate about working with clients who are navigating symptoms of borderline personality disorder, post-tramautic stress disorder, bipolar disorder, and obsessive compulsive disorder. She brings a warm, empathetic presence to the therapy space and values anti-stigma around mental illness as well as cultural humility.

Outside of work, Val enjoys songwriting, painting, cooking, and traveling with her wife. She recently moved to Toronto from the United States and loves getting to know the city by bike.
