Therapeutic Approaches

At Broadview Psychology, we care about providing comprehensive and creative programs that will meet the needs of our clients. We believe that effective treatment often requires multiple therapy modalities to target different goals, and as such, we offer a variety of services. Treatment at Broadview Psychology often extends beyond individual therapy and enables people to learn within families, partnerships, and groups. Treatment may also involve services from different providers within our team, including psychologists, social workers, psychotherapists, dieticians and behavioural coaches.

Acceptance And Commitment Therapy

Acceptance And Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is an adaption from cognitive behavioral therapy that has now been tested in more than 50 randomized controlled trials. ACT is helpful to individuals suffering from depression, anxiety, and other mental health conditions, as well as to individuals coping with illness, pain, stress, and major life transitions.

Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT)

Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) is an evidence-based treatment for depression, trauma, anxiety, abuse, marital or familial distress, and unresolved relationship issues. In EFT, emotions are viewed as providing information about our needs, values, and goals. As a result of past experiences, emotions may have been learned to be ignored or dismissed. The focus of EFT is to use therapeutic interventions to observe, experience, explore, understand, and transform emotional experience. Through EFT sessions clients learn how to connect with their feelings in a healthy and adaptive way.
