Sara Carpentier (she/her) is a Registered Social Worker with a Master of Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University. Sara received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Guelph in Family and Social Relations and also obtained a diploma from Douglas College in British Columbia in Recreation Therapy.
Sara has worked in both hospital and community settings and supported individuals across the lifespan. She has had the honour of helping people and their caregivers manage a variety of challenges, including psychosis and other psychotic disorders, depression, anxiety, grief, stress, and substance use, among others. Sara always brings with her an appreciation of recreation and leisure, and the role they play in promoting mental health. She aims to support individuals in recognizing their own strengths and resilience and see their own capacity for change. Sara has had experience utilizing a variety of different treatment modalities including Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
Sara provides clinical services in English.
Outside of work, Sara enjoys spending as much time outdoors as possible. She loves to read and devour cookbooks, which inspire her creativity in the kitchen. She also enjoys travelling, working out, and being playful with her kids and family.
