Jyotsna (she/her) made her way to Toronto, Canada by way of Delhi, India and London, UK. She completed her masters in mental health studies from Kings College London. Thereafter she worked as an assistant psychologist with the NHS in the community mental health team. She completed the CRPO (College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario) accredited Bridge to Registration and Employment in Mental Health (BREM) program and is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with CRPO.

Jyotsna is a strong advocate for mental health and has worked with several community mental health agencies across GTA. She has experience working with youth, adults, and families. Her therapeutic approach is trauma-informed, anti-racist and anti-oppressive. Using an eclectic style of therapy, she feels therapy is a collaborative process. She believes clients are the experts of their life and have the capacity to enhance the quality of their life, therapy is a medium to reach that goal. The modalities she employs in therapy include cognitive behavioural, dialectical behaviour therapy, client-centred, strength-based, and acceptance commitment among others. Her professional goal is to make psychotherapy more accessible and destigmatize help-seeking, particularly among racialized communities.

Jyotsna provides psychotherapy services in English, Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu.

In her spare time, Jyotsna enjoys going for walks and exploring new places within the city, a good cup of coffee, an occasional sweet treat to satiate her sweet tooth, reading fiction and travelling. She lives with her spouse and is a self-proclaimed city girl who enjoys the hustle and bustle of city living.
