Alyson Dudley

Alyson Dudley (she/her) is a Registered Social Worker with a Master of Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University. While completing her graduate studies, Alyson focused on working with youth and families involved with the youth criminal justice system.

Alyson works with adults and families, utilizing a strengths-based approach. She approaches clients with warmth and empathy as she works to help them develop skills to help themselves.

Alyson has worked in many different settings, including schools, prisons, community agencies, and hospitals. During her work at Markham Stouffville Hospital, she worked with child and adolescent clients using CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) to address issues such as suicidal behavior, self-harming behavior, personality disorders, anxiety, depression, gender dysphoria, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and selective mutism. Alyson also worked closely with caregivers, helping them support youth and learn strategies to help themselves. Recently, Alyson completed DBT Adherence Training, further strengthening her expertise in delivering DBT with effectiveness.

Before her career as a social worker, Alyson trained with the Royal Conservatory of Music in piano and musical history. Although she has not had the opportunity to play the piano for several years, she hopes to start again!

Alyson provides clinical services in English.

In her spare time, Alyson loves to spend time with her partner, two children, large extended family, and friends. She enjoys eating delicious food, watching movies, practicing yoga, reading, and traveling.
