REGISTERED SOCIAL WORKER | STOUFFVILLE CLINIC
Alyson Dudley (she/her) is a Registered Social Worker with a Master of Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University. While completing her graduate studies, Alyson focused on working with youth and families involved with the youth criminal justice system.
Alyson works with children, adolescents and families, utilizing a strengths-based approach. She approaches clients with warmth and empathy as she works to help them develop skills to help themselves.
Alyson has worked in many different settings including schools, prisons, community agencies and hospitals. During her work at Markham Stouffville Hospital, she worked with child and adolescent clients using CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) and DBT (dialectical behavioural therapy) to cope with issues such as suicidal behaviour, self-harming behaviour, personality disorders, anxiety, depression, gender dysphoria, obsessive-compulsive disorder and selective mutism. Alyson worked with caregivers to help them with supporting youth as well as to learn strategies to help themselves.
Before her career as a social worker, Alyson trained with the Royal Conservatory of Music in piano and musical history. Although she has not had the opportunity to play piano for several years, she hopes to start again!
Alyson provides clinical services in English.
In her spare time Alyson loves to spend time with her partner, two children, her large extended family and friends. She enjoys eating delicious food, watching movies, practising yoga, reading and travelling.
