Alisa is a compassionate and skilled psychotherapist with extensive experience in both inpatient and outpatient child and adolescent mental health treatment settings. With a background that spans hospitals, residential homes, and private practice, Alisa has worked with individuals and families facing a wide range of mental health challenges.
Having worked in both structured clinical settings and residential care environments, Alisa is well-versed in treating children, adolescents and adults struggling with mood disorders, anxiety, trauma, grief and eating disorders. She specializes in creating personalized therapeutic interventions that foster long-term recovery and emotional well-being.
Alisa is specifically trained in Family-Based Therapy (FBT) for eating disorders, a treatment modality that focuses on empowering families to support their loved ones through the recovery process. She also trained at Evergreen Hospice which allowed her to provide supportive care services to caregivers and bereaved family members through facilitating of groups. She approaches therapy through a collaborative stance, integrating various therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).
Alisa holds a Masters in Counselling Psychology, a post graduate diploma in Child and Youth Work, a Bachelors in Psychology and a diploma in Early Childhood Education. She has gained vast experience working with children, adolescents and adults through every stage of the life cycle providing clarity to the complexities. Whether providing individual therapy, conducting family sessions, or working as part of a multidisciplinary team in inpatient and outpatient settings, Alisa brings dedication and empathy to all aspects of their practice.
Outside of work, Alisa enjoys spending time with her partner and young daughter. Taking family dog walks, playing soccer & running.
