Sara Carpentier (she/her) is a Registered Social Worker with a Master of Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Family and Social Relations from the University of Guelph and a diploma in Recreation Therapy from Douglas College in British Columbia.

With over 20 years of experience in the mental health field, Sara has worked in both hospital and community settings, supporting adolescents, adults, parents, and families. She has had the privilege of helping individuals and their caregivers navigate a wide range of challenges, including psychosis, self-harm, suicidal ideation, emotion dysregulation, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, and substance use.

Sara is passionate about helping people recognize their strengths, build resilience, and explore their capacity for change. She draws from a range of therapeutic approaches, including Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). She has also completed extensive recent training in areas such as addictive behaviours, trauma, disordered eating, anxiety, and supporting families of loved ones with emotional regulation difficulties.
Sara provides clinical services in English.

Outside of her professional work, Sara enjoys spending time outdoors, reading, and exploring cookbooks that inspire her creativity in the kitchen. She also finds joy in travelling, staying active, and being playful with her kids and family.
