Dr. Gibran Rodriguez de los Reyes, C.Psych (Supervised Practice) (he/him) is a clinical and counselling psychologist who completed his Ph.D. at the University of Toronto – Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE). He holds a Master’s degree from the Universidad de las Américas in Mexico City, where he received training in family and couples therapy and brief therapy. He also pursued further education in sexual health interventions and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) during this period. Before relocating to Canada for his doctoral studies, Gibran worked in private practice as a therapist and served as a sex educator for several years.
As part of his Ph.D. training, Gibran completed clinical placements at a private practice in Oshawa, ON, the Sexual Behaviours Clinic at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), and Broadview Psychology. He later joined Broadview Psychology as a full-time clinician following a year-long placement. He also completed his predoctoral residency through the Toronto Area Residency Consortium (TARC), where he provided services at the Centre for Student Development and Counselling at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU).
Gibran has over a decade of experience supporting adults with a broad range of mental health concerns, from mild to more complex presentations. His clinical work has included supporting clients facing depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, chronic illness, personality disorders, and bipolar disorder. In Canada, he has received further training in Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Prolonged Exposure for PTSD in DBT (DBT-PE), and in clinical, psychoeducational, and forensic assessment.
Gibran’s approach is collaborative and client-centred. He prioritizes building strong therapeutic relationships to work toward mutually defined goals and draws on a range of evidence-based strategies to support change. He believes that while clinicians bring psychological expertise, clients are the experts in their own lives and can offer invaluable insight through their lived experiences, self-awareness, and personal strengths.
Gibran provides individual, couple, family, and group psychological services in both English and Spanish. Outside of his clinical work and research, he enjoys staying active, spending time with loved ones, exploring Toronto, reading, and travelling.
