Lisa Donnelly (she/her) is a registered social worker with a Masters degree from York University. Most of her social work career has been in hospital mental health programs, both in-patient and out-patient programs. She has also worked in community settings with pregnant and parenting youth, child protection agencies and programs to support individuals with severe and chronic mental health challenges. She has the most experience working with adolescents, families and couples experiencing mental health challenges and relationship issues. Lisa has training in cognitive behavioural therapy (including trauma-focused CBT), prolonged exposure therapy for PTSD, dialectical behaviour therapy, emotion-focused therapy (including emotion-focused family therapy) and mindful-based cognitive therapies.
Lisa’s approach is to be genuine, non-judgemental, and empathetic with unconditional positive regard (that means that no matter what, she can see the good in people). Lisa’s down-to-earth approach helps clients feel comfortable and safe, so that vulnerable emotions and issues can be worked on.
Lisa provides clinical services in English.
In her spare time, Lisa enjoys playing ultimate frisbee, yoga, knitting/crocheting, reading, cooking/baking, doing activities with her kids and spending time with the family.
