Vaunam (she/her) is the Program Evaluation Consultant at Broadview Psychology. She completed her Ph.D. in the Developmental Psychology and Education program at the Ontario Institute of Studies in Education (OISE) at the University of Toronto. She completed an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Psychology from York University. Vaunam then completed a Master of Arts degree in Developmental Psychology and Education from OISE at the University of Toronto.
Vaunam’s research focuses on young children’s scientific understanding. Her research addresses common science misconceptions and explores pedagogical strategies that promote science learning at home and in other educational settings such as schools and museums. As a behavioural scientist, she is passionate about research-based evidence in fostering impactful changes and informing policy.
In her free time, Vaunam enjoys dancing. Vaunam teaches African dance and drumming workshops to students in schools and she also performs classical Indian and Bollywood dances with her sisters. Vaunam is also an avid sports fan.
