Tamara Meixner (she/her) completed her PhD in Clinical Psychology at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University), under the supervision of Dr. Karen Milligan. She works with children, youth and families experiencing a variety of mental health concerns, using a primarily Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) approach. She also has experience providing Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).
Prior to joining Broadview Psychology, Tamara completed her residency at BC Children’s Hospital and received training in a variety of other settings including St. Michael’s Hospital, McMaster Children’s Hospital, the Toronto District School Board, and Ryerson University’s Sleep and Depression Research Lab. She has also provided community-based services addressing maternal substance use and the mother-child relationship at Mothercraft’s Breaking the Cycle program. Tamara strives to work collaboratively with her clients and to foster a therapeutic environment that promotes resilience and growth. Outside of her clinical work, Tamara conducts research on emotion regulation, with an emphasis on how these abilities are shaped by child-caregiver relationships. She uses both physiological and observational methods.
Tamara provides clinical services in English.
In her free time, Tamara loves spending time with family and friends, being active, and going on travel-related adventures.
