Psychologist | Stouffville Clinic
Petrice Gentile (she/her) graduated with a PhD in Clinical-Developmental Psychology from York University. She completed her clinical internship at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) where she provided group and individual therapy within the inpatient and day hospital programs working with adolescents and young adults with substance use and concurrent difficulties. Petrice also worked with children and adolescents with mood and anxiety difficulties. She has training in several evidence-based treatments such as Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (TF-CBT). She also has experience providing comprehensive psycho-educational and psychological/diagnostic assessments with children and adolescents. Petrice’s approach is client-centered and she strives to work collaboratively with her clients and their families to provide evidence-based treatment with a focus on individual strengths.
Petrice’s research investigated the impact of emotion regulation deficits and cognitive regulation strategies on the engagement of non-suicidal self-injury and disordered eating among young adults.
As a youth and young adult, Petrice competed at the provincial level in soccer and was a member of the varsity soccer team during her undergraduate studies. In her spare time, Petrice enjoys spending time with family and friends, being active, and spending time outdoors with her dog.
Petrice works out of our Stouffville clinic, providing psychological services in English for clients who are north of Toronto.
