Kayla Sliz (she/her) is returning to work in Ontario after 7 years in the United States, working, studying, and competing as an athlete. Kayla completed her M. Ed in Counseling at Boston University where she specialized in sport and performance psychology and completed a clinical internship in a college counselling center. Post-grad, Kayla went on to work at Monte Nido, an eating disorder treatment center in the US, where her experience and passion for treating eating disorders and body image concerns grew immensely. Kayla has also worked with a variety of mental health struggles such as anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, mental performance concerns, perfectionism, and interpersonal challenges.
Kayla draws from a variety of approaches such as CBT, DBT, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy when providing therapy to individuals, groups, and families. She takes an individualized, strengths-based approach to therapy and strives to create a safe space where clients feel empowered to gain insight on their experiences and make meaningful changes that connect them to their values and enhance their quality of life.
Outside of therapy, Kayla enjoys walks by the lake, making collage art, cooking, travelling, and spending time with loved ones!
