Lindsey Torbit (she/her) graduated with a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University). She provides treatment to adults and couples for a wide range of experiences including depression, anxiety (generalized anxiety, health anxiety, social anxiety, phobias, panic disorder), OCD, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and relationship problems. She has expertise in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and cognitive processing therapy (CPT) for PTSD and uses a variety of empirically supported interventions, tailoring these approaches to each of her individual clients.
Prior to joining Broadview Psychology, she completed clinical training in a variety of settings including St. Michael’s Hospital in the Department of Family and Community Medicine, Princess Margaret Hospital in the Department of Palliative Care and Psycho-Social Oncology, and completed her doctoral residency at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) in the Psychological Trauma Program and the Mood and Anxiety Ambulatory Services.
Lindsey’s approach to therapy is non-judgmental and collaborative, with a focus on creating a warm and supportive environment for therapeutic change and combining client strengths with evidence-based interventions. She aims to help individuals foster emotional resilience and cultivate self-compassion to improve overall well-being.
Growing up in Montreal, Lindsey played hockey through competitively college, and continues to be a sports enthusiast. In her spare time, Lindsey enjoys spending time with family and friends, being active, and spending time outdoors.
