Julia Riddell, MA
Ph.D. Candidate - Clinical Psychology

Julia Riddell is completing her Ph.D. in Clinical-Developmental Psychology at York University. She is being clinically supervised at Broadview Psychology by Dr. Christine Sloss and Dr. Stacey Schell. Julia completed her Master’s degree in Clinical-Developmental Psychology at York University and conducted her thesis in partnership with Pine River Institute, a residential and wilderness therapy centre for youth struggling with addiction and mental health issues.

Julia has experience working with children, youth and adults with a range of challenges, including attachment disorders, mood and anxiety issues, learning difficulties, behavioural problems, self-harm and addiction. Julia completed an advanced practicum at Broadview Psychology and has trained extensively in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). Before coming to Broadview Psychology, Julia worked at the Hincks-Dellcrest Centre in Toronto, providing individual play therapy, CBT, dyadic therapy and family therapy. Julia conducted diagnostic and psycho-educational assessments at Lutherwood in Waterloo, working with children in foster and adoptive care, as well as Lutherwood’s residential program for youth with severe mental health challenges. She has worked in the York University Psychology clinic for a number of years providing psycho-educational assessments and therapy for children, youth and families.

Outside of work, Julia loves hiking, canoeing, dancing, and spending time with friends and family.
