Inquiring about services

Please leave your name, number, and reason for your call, and someone will get back to you to discuss your needs and answer any questions that you may have.


If you decide to access services with us (either treatment or an assessment), you will be asked to come in for an intake/assessment that typically takes two to three sessions to complete. During these sessions, we will be assessing your needs, and determining whether we believe that we will be able to work with you effectively.

To understand your current functioning and to get a baseline, you will be asked to complete various measures or tests.

To understand your treatment history, we will ask you to provide permission for us to access your health records from previous service providers.

If you are a young adult, adolescent or child, we will ask to meet with a family member for one appointment as part of the assessment.

If you are an adult, we may ask to meet with a family member or partner for one appointment as part of the assessment.

If you are seeking couple therapy, you will meet for one session as a couple, and then will both take part in an individual assessment session with a therapist.

If you are seeking only a diagnostic or psychoeducational assessment, your assessment will be longer, and if desired, will result in a report that you may grant us permission to share with family physicians, psychiatrists or teachers.

Confidentiality and Privacy

Everything that you say will be confidential, except in the following circumstances:

Your personal health information will be stored in a locked filing cabinet in a locked room, and electronically in a firewall and password protected private server belonging to Broadview Psychology. Only the team at Broadview Psychology will have access to your records.

Starting treatment

After completing the assessment, we will speak to you about treatment options, explaining what is involved in treatment, and how treatment may help you. Should you wish to pursue treatment, we will work together to develop treatment goals and a treatment plan with you.

Paying for services

Before setting up an appointment, you will be informed of our fees. When you come in for your intake appointment, you will be given a handout on our fees and fee policies. The fees vary according to the training of our clinicians, and the treatment modality (e.g. individual, family, couple, group, consultation). Our fees are partially covered by most insurance plans, and in many cases, are tax deductible. Please bring payment to your first session, and to each session thereafter. We accept cash, debit, cheques made out to Broadview Psychology, and Interac e-transfers.

Cancelling appointments

You will benefit most from treatment if you attend regularly. If you must cancel a session, we ask that you give us 24 hours notice. If you cancel with 24 hours notice, you will not be charged for the missed appointment.
