Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT)

Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) is based on humanistic and systemic theories. It is an evidence-based treatment of depression and marital distress. EFT is also an effective treatment of trauma, abuse, unresolved relationship issues, eating disorders, and anxiety disorders. In EFT emotions are viewed as providing information about our needs, values, and goals. As a result of past experiences, emotions may have been learned to be ignored or dismissed. The focus of EFT is to use therapeutic interventions to experience, explore, transform, increase awareness of, and make sense of the emotional experience. Through EFT sessions you will learn how to connect with your feelings in a healthy and adaptive way.
